Residencies

​MIDOCs residents are selected through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) process which opens each fall. Medical students are invited to interview in November and December, and ranking takes place in January. MIDOCs positions are filled through the Main Residency Match which takes place in March and Resident Contracts are signed by July. All MIDOCs residency programs meet ACGME requirements.

  • Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSUSOM)

  • Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed)

  • General Pediatrics

  • General Surgery

  • Family Medicine

  • Psychiatry

Training Locations

To help address community need and provide the best training possible to MIDOCs residents, new residency training sites are continually being added and expanded as resources allow. MIDOCs residency rotation sites are located in primary care and mental health shortage areas and provide care to Michiganders through hospitals, community clinics, community mental health agencies, private practices and more.
